Blog Experience

This blog has been a good experience. It has been cool to create and manage this blog throughout the semester. I have never done something like this previously. So it was a new and fun experience. I look forward to maybe creating a blog and posting content one day. It would be really cool to be able to create a following of people as well. Overall it was a new and fun experience inside of class!

Final Proposal

For my final paper I am writing a proposal for turf and sports dome upgrades within the university. The upgrades for turf/dome are much needed within the athletic department. The city would benefit from the dome and so would sponsors of local businesses. I will try to explain the background of how and why. I think this proposal will be great because it is coming from an athlete inside of the university.

Skills

Over this past semester I have worked very hard on being better inside of my class of biomechanics. This is one of the hardest classes in my major and one of the hardest in the university. I have become much better at studying the material. I have been able to learn how to process information in class and convert it to a way of studying it outside of lecture. I have also been able to communicate with my professor more, which helps me in understanding material. I have worked hard inside of my writing class to improve on my grammar as well as my structure of papers. My structure of writing has really been something that I focused on after our first paper was due. I think I have come a long way in all my classes within this semester.

Fundraising Proposal

Dear Athletic Director,

Hello my name is Lucas Fisher and I would like to propose the idea of me coming to work for your athletic department. I would be able to fundraise a large amount of money for your sports in a short amount of time. I do this by being able to communicate and relate to the local businesses. There are always local businesses that are willing to provide fo their university with little advertisement in return. With this support from local businesses it will create more growth of support for your sports. It will create a great buzz for mustang athletics.

Instructions for Writing in Sports Management

Writing a paper for a sports management or sports business class would be very similar to the way you would do so for a business paper. I haven’t personally been involved in a specific sports business class but haven recently completed intro to business. In a business related class you would need to have the correct form of language that the readers who are part of your career would be able to grasp and understand. The language would need to be effective enough to get your point across in a professional way. Papers in the discipline are have a large amount of paragraphs and contain around 5-8 sentences in each paragraphs. Keeping the paragraphs short and concise. Overall they are kept professional and portray the ideas that the writer is trying to get across.

Design Changes

I have redesigned my blog site. I added a couple menu bars that are named “About” and “contact”. These menus contain a little more information about myself as well as me email for people to reach out to me. I have added a picture that represents myself and is a picture of me and my mom. I changed the color of a few items and text within the designer. I have also rearranged the theme to a “professional business” theme. That theme resembles the career that I am interested in, which is a professional spot in the administrative side of athletics. Hope the design changes are a cool part of my blog! Enjoy!

Complain Letter

In the assignment below I was asked to write a complain letter about mail or shipments being late or damaged. When thinking of this topic I could relate my own experience to it because I haven’t had to best mail delivery service at my house. I think the letter communicates what it was intended to very well. I get right to the point and I come off as angry and frustrated. I am respectable to the recipient.

Dear US Postal Service,

My name is Lucas Fisher and I’m writing this letter to the manager at the Marshall, Minnesota location for the USPS. Recently I have been receiving packages that I ordered from Amazon. These packages are arriving in terrible shape and what looks like to be totally mishandled through the shipping process. They deliverers are dropping the cardboard packages in the snow by my mailbox, so when I have time to get the package after work it is usually buried in the snow and damaged. If you could please clear up the mishandling of mail with your employees it would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to have to take this to someone above you.

Thank you,

Lucas Fisher

Lucas Fisher
